Each year, the annual LRE Forum organised by the LRE Foundation brings together members, partners and tourism stakeholders to hear updates from experts, network, and attend specialised travel trade events.
The 2022 edition, organised in collaboration with the Region of Normandy, and Normandy Tourism, is designed to encourage partners and stakeholders to develop new ideas and practices through a selection of exciting activities:

Engaging panel discussions about WWII history, the role of cultural heritage within the modern society, remembrance and more

Networking opportunities with WWII-related organisations, tourism and cultural heritage institutions and travel trade operators
- Organised site visits to the D-day landing beaches and local memorials and museums

LRE Member Seminar
4 April
A great occasion to meet with other members, exchange ideas and best practices across the network and hear the Foundation’s latest updates on past projects and upcoming plans.
LRE Conference
4 April
An event to inform and inspire all the Foundation’s stakeholders with interesting in-depth keynotes, panel discussions and outstanding speakers.
LRE Gala
4 April
A special dining event for the members of the LRE Foundation, its key partners and sponsors.
LREXPO
5 April
A thematic trade show where representatives from remembrance sites, museums, and tourism destinations network with the travel trade stakeholders to offer unique tourism products and to form partnerships to reach a broader international audience.
Site Visits in Normandy
5-6 April
Pack your comfortable shoes and get ready to explore the beautiful landmarks of Normandy. Guided tours will be organised to visit the landing beaches and many of the museums and memorials telling the stories of D-Day and Operation Overlord.

Travel to Caen
By train
Caen is located two hours by train from Paris, with direct trains leaving the capital from both Paris Gare Saint-Lazare and Paris Gare Montparnasse stations.

By plane
Normandy has three international airports nearby – Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly and Nantes International Airport, with daily flights from destinations worldwide.
Two of the region’s domestic airports, Caen-Carpiquet and Deauville, also run regular international flights.
By car
Caen is easily reachable by car, please consult Google Maps to find the most convenient route for you.

The LRE Foundation is committed to monitoring and complying with European, national, and local health regulations to ensure a safe event for participants and all those involved. In the unfortunate case that further restrictions will be imposed to slow down the spread of the virus and we will be required to cancel the event in Normandy, we will inform the attendees as soon as possible and elaborate an online alternative for our valued audience.
