“Resistance to Oblivion – Preserving WWII Memories and Lessons for Future Generations “
As the memory of WWII faces the erosion of time and the voices of those who experienced it begin to fade, the urgency to preserve its lessons grows ever more critical.
The LRE Conference 2025 addresses this challenge by exploring strategies to safeguard these histories and integrate them into cultural and educational frameworks. Through multifaceted dialogue, we will examine memory transmission, educational enhancements, and the impact of contemporary conflicts on WWII’s legacy. «Resistance to Oblivion» is more than just a conference title; it is a call to action. By resisting the tide of forgetfulness, we honour the past, fostering a world mindful of history and vigilant against repeating its darkest chapters.
Further details about the conference’s programme and speakers will be released in January.
The LRE Foundation has been supported by the National Fund for Peace, Freedom and Veteran Care (vfonds) in the Netherlands since 2012. The vfonds is a strategic partner of the Foundation since, for many projects.
The LRE Conference 2025 is part of a series of initiatives organised under the umbrella youth project ” ResistanceThrough their Eyes” funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme of the European Union.
